Katy Boren, PA-C

Katy Boren, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant at Heights Dermatology in Texas City. She joined the practice in 2022.

Katy was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. She graduated summa cum laude fromEast Texas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2018. She was also a member of the ETBU Women’s Basketball team that reached the “Elite Eight” in the NCAA Tournament. Katy attained her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Her interest and passion for dermatology kindled after completing a selective dermatology rotation during her clinical year.

Prior to her arrival at Heights Dermatology, Katy specialized in emergency medicine at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. She is passionate about providing the highest quality of patient care as well as building relationships with her patients. Her special interests include helping patients attain healthy and beautiful skin by treating various skin conditions, or through routine skin cancer screenings.

Katy received personal training in dermatology from Dr. Alpesh Desai, DO, and Dr. Tejas Desai, DO. She practices in the areas of general, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. Katy pursues additional post-graduate medical education in order to provide patient care that aligns with contemporary best practice. She is also enrolled in the Diplomate Fellowship Program through the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Katy is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants. In her free time, Katy enjoys traveling, exercising, spending time with her family and friends, and taking care of her dog Bentley.
